Laimburg Research Centre
Laimburg Research Centre, founded in 1975, is the research centre for agriculture and food quality in South Tyrol. Through scientific experimentation and research, we develop know-how, solutions and innovations for South Tyrolean agriculture and food processing. Through our research, we ensure the cultivation and production of high-quality agricultural products in South Tyrol and make a concrete contribution to the further development of local businesses. We coordinate our annual programme of activities with representatives of the South Tyrolean agricultural and food processing sectors. This ensures that our research and experiments directly address the concrete needs of agricultural and food processing practice in South Tyrol. Every year, our 200 staff work on around 350 projects covering all areas of South Tyrolean agriculture, from fruit and wine growing to special crops such as vegetables and berries, mountain farming, food processing and quality, as well as product innovation for companies in the food sector. This allows us to cover the entire food production chain, from cultivation to finished product.
