Claudia Notarnicola

  • Claudia Notarnicola PhD- Head of the Institute for Earth Observation, Eurac Research- focuses her research on the development of innovative methodologies to better monitor environmental resources, e.g. the components of the water cycle, through the integration of multi-modal Earth observation data, physical based models, and ground observation.
  • Currently she is involved in national and international projects with the aim to generate tools based on satellite data to monitor the mountain environment processes such as snow cover variability, vegetation dynamics, terrain movements. Author of more than 100 publications in scientific and professional journals, she is a very active as chairman of several scientific international meetings such as the SPIE Remote Sensing Europe Symposium. 
  • Specifically in 2020 she was the scientific coordinator of the 2nd Edition of the international conference on snow hydrology “SnowHydro” that welcomed in Bolzano/Bozen at Eurac Research premises 150 scientists from several international institutions.
