Walter Guerra

  • Walter Guerra was born in Bolzano. He got his Master in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Padova, Italy and was involved in 1999/2000 in research work at the Department of Pomology of the University of California Davis, USA. From 2001-2013 he was teaching assistant at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy and got his PhD in Horticulture with Professor Sansavini at the University of Bologna, Italy in 2009.
  • Since 2001 he has been working at the public Research Center Laimburg, Italy, leading the Pomology and Apple breeding group (since 2005) and leading the Institute of Fruit Growing and Viticulture (since 2017). Since 2021 he is Deputy director of the Research Centre Laimburg and a member of the National Academy of Agriculture.
